The all-new Mitsubishi ASX VR-e is set to bring a new era of all-electric driving to New Zealand. Confirmed for arrival in December 2026 the ASX VR-e will expand Mitsubishi’s electrified range and give Kiwi drivers another reason to make the switch to a fully electric vehicle.
The ASX VR-e range will be available across four models, including LS, XLS, Exceed and the high-performance GSR. Developed in partnership with renowned Italian design house Pininfarina and EV manufacturer Foxtron, the ASX VR-e combines distinctive design with Mitsubishi’s expertise and local support.
As Mitsubishi’s all-electric offering joins the Outlander PHEV and Eclipse Cross PHEV, the ASX VR-e represents another step in Mitsubishi’s commitment to giving New Zealand drivers more electrified choices.
All-Electric Mitsubishi ASX VR-e Pricing Confirmed for New Zealand
Mitsubishi Motors New Zealand has confirmed pricing and full specifications for the new all-electric Mitsubishi ASX VR-e, with the four-model range set to arrive in New Zealand dealerships from December 2026.
Pricing starts from $57,990 +ORC for the rear-wheel drive ASX VR-e LS, with four models available:
- ASX VR-e LS – from $57,990 +ORC
- ASX VR-e XLS – from $63,990 +ORC
- ASX VR-e Exceed – from $67,990 +ORC
- ASX VR-e GSR AWD – from $72,990 +ORC
All models feature a 57.7kWh battery, with the LS offering up to 403km of WLTP driving range. The three rear-wheel drive variants produce 171kW and 350Nm, while the range-topping GSR adds a second electric motor and all-wheel drive for a combined 342kW and 700Nm, accelerating from 0–100km/h in just 3.9 seconds.
Developed in partnership with Italian design house Pininfarina and EV manufacturer Foxtron, the ASX VR-e combines a distinctive new design with plenty of technology. A 15.6-inch central touchscreen and 9.2-inch digital driver display are standard across the range, while the ASX VR-e will also introduce Mitsubishi Connect smartphone functionality to New Zealand for the first time.
DC fast charging of up to 134kW is supported, allowing a 10–80% charge in approximately 30 minutes under suitable conditions, while Vehicle-to-Load capability can provide up to 3.6kW of external power.
Every ASX VR-e is also supported by Mitsubishi’s Diamond Advantage Warranty, including an eight-year/160,000km drive battery warranty.
