Built to Be a Proper Pajero
Underneath the new design is a tough ladder-frame chassis, paired with Mitsubishi’s Super Select 4WD-II system and Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC).
Drivers will also have seven selectable drive modes, including Gravel, Snow, Mud, Sand and Rock, giving the new Pajero the hardware to back up its rugged appearance.
Power comes from a new 2.4-litre turbo-diesel engine, producing up to 480Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Tough Outside, Premium Inside
The Pajero has grown up too.
Inside is a seven-seat cabin with a large digital display arrangement, improved sound insulation, three-zone climate control and a new digital version of the Pajero’s famous triple-meter display.
Mitsubishi has also added modern driver-assistance technology, a 3D surround-view camera system and an available 12-speaker Yamaha audio system, giving the new Pajero a much more premium feel than previous generations.
A New Chapter for Mitsubishi
The original Pajero built its reputation through decades of adventure, off-road driving and motorsport.
This new model is Mitsubishi’s attempt to bring that same spirit into a modern flagship SUV, offering the toughness Pajero buyers expect while adding the comfort, safety and technology families now demand.
Mitsubishi plans to introduce the new Pajero progressively across global markets, with Australia among the first confirmed markets during the 2026 financial year. Market-specific specifications and availability will vary, with further local details still to come.
For now, one thing is certain: the Pajero is officially back.
