We’ve been partnering with the team at Fair Food since their inception. In addition to the truck, we’ve also previously donated three other cars to help keep them moving on their mission.
Things grew exponentially for Fair Food over each COVID-19 lockdown as more and more people found themselves needing the support that Fair Food provides. Last year, Fair Food was feeding 3,000 families. Now, they feed around 20,000. In six months, they’d usually rescue 120 tonnes of food. Fair Food are now doing that every month. The cars we’ve donated allow them to carry on being a driving force in the community. In August 2020 alone, Fair Food rescued 120,119 kgs of food, provided 343,197 meals and reducing 93,508 kgs worth of carbon emissions.
Fair Food rescues surplus or leftover good food from supermarkets and other major corporate partners, with the goal of redistributing this food to communities in need.
