There are a couple of reasons why it might be a good idea to get your WOF sorted sooner, rather than later.
While the Police can’t ping you for an expired WOF, your insurance provider might. All crashes should be covered during the lockdown period, but there is a grey area if the crash was caused by something your car may have failed its WOF on.
Getting that WOF checked also gives you time during level 3 to get your car sorted if needed. It’ll be ready to go again when we move back down the alert levels.
It is likely there will be a huge spike in people wanting to get their WOFs done in time for that 10th of October deadline. Keep ahead of the crowd and avoid the queues.
Essentially, it’s a good idea to get your WOF done as soon as you can. VTNZ testing stations are operating in response to the changing alert levels. More details can be found on their website: https://vtnz.co.nz/articles/covid-19-service-update/.
Alternatively, see what your local provider has to offer and support them.
